Tell Me About the Troop...

Who We Are!

Troop 180 is a Boys' Scouts BSA Troop chartered to St. Joseph Parish in beautiful Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio. Our scouts enjoy a robust, year-round program that gives them opportunities to develop character and leadership skills in a fun and friendly environment. We camp and hike and carry out community service...and much, much more!

Where We Meet?

Our Troop meets on Tuesday evenings at 6:30pm, at St. Joseph Parish School. We have a "Scout Room" next to the Gym that we use to meet and conduct business, from training and preparing for the next outing to planning upcoming events. We always welcome potential new scouts and Cub Scout visitors!

Camping Adventures!

Outdoor activities such as camping and hiking are a major part of what we do in Troop 180! Our scouts decide on where to go and what to do, then they prepare it, get out there, and do it!

Service Projects!

Our scouts regularly perform community service in the Cuyahoga Falls/Akron area, whether it's building equipment for local non-profits, or cleaning up the local park, or a canned-food drive.

Tell me about Scouting!

Scouting began in 1907 in the UK, when a British General, Lord Baden-Powell, pictured left, took a group of youths out to Brownsea Island for a weeklong camp. After the success of his "Experiment", Lord Baden-Powell (referred to as "BP" by scouts worldwide) jump-started the largest worldwide youth movement in history. For well over 100 years, Scouting has been providing fun opportunities to develop leadership to youth in over 150 different Nations! When you're a Scout, you are a part of an international brotherhood! Scouting is a unique youth activity, in that it is a youth-led program. The scouts are allowed to plan their meetings and outings, with adults only on hand to advise and counsel and to ensure safety.
